Scott T. Grusky was born in Hollywood, California on 12/14/61. He spent his formative childhood in Pacific Palisades, and received a B.A. in mathematics/economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara. After a brief stint as a jeweler, he attended Harvard University, where he earned an M.A. in economics. Upon graduating, he served as a research consultant to Southern California Edison. His quantitative skills impressed others, but left him feeling somewhat hollow.
Fascinated by the dark underbelly of technology, Scott decided to pursue a career as a writer in 1986. He spent the next decade laboring over Silicon Sunset. Meanwhile, he wrote screenplays, short stories, and journalism articles. Upon covering the emerging World Wide Web in 1993, he received a flood of requests from readers to build websites. Thus began his current career as a web developer. Isn't ironic?
